Pogba’s gold medal was stolen during a Champions League match for winning the World Cup
MOSCOW, 23 Mar – Manchester United’s Paul Pogba has claimed that thieves stole a safe containing a medal for winning the World Cup during the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 against Atlético Madrid.
The meeting took place on March 15 and ended with the score 1:0 in favor of the Madrid club. Following the results of the two-legged confrontation, Atlético reached the quarterfinals of the tournament.
“I’m fine, my family is too. I’ve had a pretty amazing week. After the Champions League match, before which I found out that I would not start, I drove home and found that my house had been burglarized after three people entered my safe was stolen. It was my mother’s jewelry, my world championship medal. What scared me the most was that my two children were at home with a nanny at the time of the incident. She heard everything, called her wife and security, then locked herself in the room with the boys. For several days after that she was in shock. The most important thing is that everything is fine with my children,” Pogba said in an interview with Le Figaro newspaper.
Pogba won the 2018 World Cup with France in Russia.
