MOSCOW, September 16 – Mixed martial arts fighter Dzhakhar Mazhidov, who performs in Hardcore Fighting, was stabbed when he stood up for a girl in a conflict, according to the promotion’s Telegram channel.

According to Mazhidov, a group of people came into his colleague’s grocery store and began to be rude and harass the girl. He and his friend stood up for her, after which the conflict continued on the street. It is alleged that the two athletes were confronted by nine people who beat them with bottles and also pulled out knives. As a result of the scuffle, Mazhidov was stabbed in the abdomen. Currently, the fighter is in the hospital, his condition is stable.

Earlier, in the Moscow shopping center “Riviera” during a press conference of the “Our Business” promotion, a mass brawl occurred with the participation of MMA fighters. After a provocative question addressed to the Chechen athlete Shovkhal Churchaev, a fight broke out in the hall of the shopping center, which security could not stop in time. The calls of the event organizers also had no effect. State Duma deputy Adam Delimkhanov said that, on instructions from the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, he took personal control of the case of a fight involving Churchaev in Moscow.
