MOSCOW, 26 Jul – The Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) is working to ensure the participation of Russian athletes in the qualifying competitions for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, said the head of the organization, Stanislav Pozdnyakov.
The Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), after the start of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine, recommended that sports federations not allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in international competitions.
“Exactly two years later, the Olympic Games will start in Paris. Despite all the circumstances, the Russian Olympic Committee is a full member of the Olympic movement. We continue to systematically prepare for the Games, and we are also working to ensure that our athletes can qualify and have equal access to the Olympic Village and facilities, their participation in events during the Games,” Pozdnyakov wrote on his Telegram channel.
The Paris Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024. The Paralympics will be held in the capital of France from August 28 to September 8, 2024.
