Daily Mail: Newcastle captain Lascelles attempted to be shot during attack
MOSCOW, 29 Aug – Newcastle player Jamal Lascelles has been attacked on a street in Newcastle upon Tyne, according to the Daily Mail.
According to the publication, the incident occurred in the city center near a nightclub. The footballer and his 19-year-old brother were attacked by several men who threatened to shoot them.
It is reported that the conflict began due to the fact that one of the unidentified persons hit Brother Lascelles several times with his elbow in the throat. Eyewitnesses say that the footballer intervened and pushed the attacker away. Then a bottle of vodka was thrown at the captain of the Newcastle, which almost hit him in the head. After that, a group of unknown people attacked the footballer and started beating him.
A group of men escaped before emergency services arrived, and Lascelles’ brother was taken to the hospital. The football club is aware of the incident and saw the video. At the moment, the police are investigating the attack on the player and his relative.
Lascelles, 29, has been with Newcastle since the summer of 2014. His current agreement runs until June 2024. In the 2022/23 season, he made 11 appearances for the Forties and scored one goal.
