Promoter Hearn confirms the collapse of the fight between boxers Fury and Joshua
MOSCOW, 4 Oct – The fight between British boxers Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury will not take place, said Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn.
At the end of September, the World Boxing Council (WBC) world heavyweight champion Fury announced the failure of the fight with Joshua.
According to Hearn, the offer to organize the duel with Fury was received by Derek Chisora, who at the end of September announced that he was “retired”. On Sunday, Oleksandr Usyk’s manager, Egis Klimas, announced that the Ukrainian boxer was ready to fight Fury on December 3. Before that, the Briton accused Usyk of unwillingness to sign a contract for the fight.
Fury is 34 years old, in April the Briton knocked out compatriot Dillian Whyte and defended the WBC title for the second time in a row, remaining undefeated (32 wins and one draw). He has repeatedly announced his retirement.
