Sunak’s support for RCB stems from a deep personal connection to Bengaluru, where his wife’s family hails from.
“I’m married into a Bengaluru family, so RCB is my team,” Sunak said during his India visit, highlighting his bond with the franchise. He shared that his in-laws, Infosys founder Narayana Murthy and author Sudha Murty, gifted him an RCB jersey when he married Akshata, cementing his loyalty to the team.
