MOSCOW, 11 July – Ex-first rackets of the world Swiss Roger Federer and American Serena Williams dropped out of the updated rating lists of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), having lost points for the last Wimbledon.
Earlier, ATP and WTA decided not to award rating points to the participants of the Wimbledon tournament due to the refusal of the organizers to allow Russian and Belarusian players.
The Swiss, 40, has not played a game since last July, when he reached the Wimbledon quarter-finals.
Williams has not played on the women’s tour since the summer of 2021, when she withdrew from her Wimbledon first round match due to injury. This season, the 40-year-old American returned and lost in the first round of Wimbledon to Frenchwoman Harmony Tan.
