MOSCOW, 24 July – Romanian Irina-Camellia Begu became the winner of the WTA 250 clay tournament in Palermo, Italy, the prize fund of which exceeds 200,000 euros.
Begu, seeded under the sixth number, beat the Italian Lucia Bronzetti in the final with a score of 6:2, 6:2. The tennis players spent just over an hour and a half on the court.
For 31-year-old Begu, ranked 45th in the WTA rankings, this is the fifth Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) singles title. 23-year-old Bronzetti is in 78th position in the world rankings.
