MOSCOW, 21 July – Football club “Rostov” on the official website announced the return of goalkeeper Nikita Medvedev to the team.
It is reported that the agreement with the goalkeeper, who played for the Kazan “Rubin” over the past two years, was signed under the “2+1” scheme. On June 1, 27-year-old Medvedev signed a new three-year contract with Rubin.
Medvedev played for Rostov from February 2016 to the summer of 2017. In the spring part of the 2015/16 season, as part of the Don team, Medvedev kept the gate intact for 952 minutes, setting a national championship record. He beat the previous record holder Ruslan Nigmatullin (1999-2000, Lokomotiv) by 13 minutes.
Thanks to Medvedev, Rostov did not miss nine RPL matches in a row, setting a record for the national championship. At the end of the season, “Rostov” became the silver medalist of the Russian Championship.
