Rotenberg replaced SKA captain after the fifth consecutive defeat in the KHL
MOSCOW, September 19 – Head coach of St. Petersburg SKA Roman Rotenberg said that in the regular championship match of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) with Cherepovets Severstal, forward Alexander Kadeikin will be the team captain.
Before the start of the season, Marat Khairullin was appointed captain of the army team. On Sunday, SKA suffered its fifth defeat in a row and, with four points, is in penultimate, 10th place in the West. The St. Petersburg team will play the match with Severstal on September 20 on their ice.
“Marat Khairullin remains the leader of the team in the locker room and outside it, he will serve as an assistant captain. Artem Sergeev will also be appointed as an assistant,” the coach added.
Kadeikin played for SKA from 2014 to 2016. Also in the KHL, Kadeikin played for Atlant near Moscow, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl and Salavat Yulaev Ufa, where he spent the last five seasons, after which he returned to SKA.
