MOSCOW, 22 Jul – Midfielder Kazan “Rubin” Darko Yevtich, who was diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament, was out for six months after undergoing surgery in a clinic in Lyon (France), according to the official website of the club.
Yevtich was injured in the 33rd minute of a friendly match between Rubin and Dynamo Moscow (0:2), which took place on July 5 at the Blue and White base in Novogorsk. The 29-year-old Swiss midfielder left the field accompanied by doctors.
“The operation was performed by an experienced surgeon who operated on many famous football players, including Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The player’s recovery period will be at least six months,” the report says.
Yevtich has been playing for Rubin since January 2020 and has played 45 games for Kazan, scoring four goals and providing three assists. Previously, the midfielder played for the Greek AEK, the Swiss Basel, the Austrian Wacker and the Polish Lech from Poznan.
