MOSCOW, 21 July – Russian Andrei Rublev was fined one point during the match of the second round of the ATP 500 tennis tournament in Hamburg, Germany, the prize fund of which is 1.7 million euros.
In the first set of the match against Argentina’s Francisco Cherundolo, the Russian, seeded at the tournament under the second number, first called the referee’s decision “stupid”, for which he received his first warning. Then he tried to sarcastically shake hands with him. The second incident occurred when the score was 4:4 on the opponent’s serve. Since the Russian had already received a warning for the second time, he received a penalty and the game began with a score of 0:15.
At the beginning of the second set, Rublev again failed to cope with his emotions and, after losing his serve, bit the ball.
Rublev lost the match 4:6, 2:6.
