The most mentioned in the English-language social media for the 2022 Games was Japan, Russia is the fourth
MOSCOW, 21 Feb – The list of the most mentioned countries in English-language social media during the XXIV Winter Olympic Games in Beijing was Japan, China and the USA, Russia is the fourth. This is evidenced by a study conducted as part of a joint project and Brand Analytics dedicated to the Beijing Olympics.
The most frequently mentioned country in the ranking was Japan (274,255). The second place was taken by China (215,111), and the USA closes the top three (193,773).
The fourth position went to Russia (113,075). The next line of the list was strengthened by Canada (77,409). Almost two times less mentions – in South Korea (35,564). Seventh place went to Mexico (28,844) and eighth to Great Britain (23,280).
From ninth to 14th places with a small margin from each other are: Finland (16,773), France (16,633), Germany (16,603), Sweden (16,316), Norway (16,057) and Italy (15,050) . The penultimate five positions were distributed between Switzerland (11,562), the Netherlands (10,469), Slovakia (8,090), Austria (6,860) and the Czech Republic (3,999). Poland closes the rating with 2,932 mentions.
