Russian chess player Grebnev won the Asian Junior Championship
MOSCOW, September 15 – Russian chess player Alexey Grebnev won the Asian Junior Championship, which was held in Jamshedpur (India), according to the website of the Russian Chess Federation (RFC).
Based on the results of nine rounds, Grebnev scored seven points and took first place in additional indicators. Among the girls, Russian Anastasia Ivanova took 14th place with 5.5 points.
In March 2022, FIDE allowed athletes from Russia and Belarus to compete in individual tournaments only in a neutral status. The General Assembly of the Asian Chess Federation (ACF) voted on February 28 to admit the Russian Chess Federation (RFC) to the ACF. On May 1, the FSR became a full member of the ACF.
