MOSCOW, 25 Jul – Former Formula 1 driver Daniil Kvyat of Russia underwent a seat adjustment procedure in a National Association of Stock Car Racing (NASCAR) car.
Kvyat posted a photo of the seat fit on his Instagram page (Meta (Facebook and Instagram social networks) is banned in Russia as extremist). In early July, the 28-year-old Russian expressed hope for an early debut in NASCAR.
In February, the International Automobile Federation (FIA) announced the cancellation of the Russian Formula 1 round amid the situation in Ukraine and allowed Russian drivers to take part in competitions only in a neutral status. In March, Kvyat refused to sign the FIA declaration of commitment to the principles of peace and political neutrality.
Kvyat is the most successful Russian driver in Formula 1 history. He has three podiums, one fastest lap and 202 points. The Russian was a Formula 1 driver from 2013 to 2017 and from 2019 to 2020. In the 2021 season, he was a reserve driver for the Alpin Renault team.
