MOSCOW, July 7 – Russian goaltender Alexander Georgiev will continue his career with the Colorado Avalanche, according to the National Hockey League (NHL) club on Twitter.
Earlier it was reported that Georgiev, who is in the status of a restricted free agent, asked the Rangers for an exchange.
The Avalanche acquired Georgiev from the Rangers in exchange for a third- and fifth-round pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft and a fifth-round pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, according to the release.
Georgiev is 26 years old, in Russia he represented the Resurrection Khimik, since 2017 he has been playing in the Rangers system. On his account in the NHL 129 matches, in which he won 58 wins, spent eight meetings “to zero” and on average reflected 90.8% of shots. In the last regular season, Georgiev played for the club in 33 games, conceding an average of 2.92 goals and reflecting 89.8% of shots.
