Russian biathlete Paschenko took third place in the sprint at the IBU Cup in Slovakia

MOSCOW, 15 Jan – Russian Petr Pashchenko won a bronze medal at the International Biathlon Union (IBU) Cup stage in Brezno-Osrblie (Slovakia).
Emilien Claude of France won the 10K race in 24:35.8 with one penalty. The second was the Norwegian Sindre Pettersen (+15.0 seconds; three misses). Pashchenko made one miss and lost to Claude by 17.5 seconds.
Russian Vasily Tomshin (+23.2; two misses) finished fifth, Dmitry Ivanov (+30.5; one miss) – seventh, Mikhail Pervushin (+47.8; two misses) – tenth, Nikita Porshnev (+1.20, 6; three misses) – 19th, Ilnaz Mukhamedzyanov (+1.24.7; five misses) – 21st.
The sprint was originally supposed to take place on Friday, but was moved to Saturday due to strong winds. Saturday’s men’s pursuit has been cancelled.
