Russian wrestler Usmanov made it to the finals of the World Championship
MOSCOW, September 17 – Russian freestyle wrestler Akhmed Usmanov made it to the finals of the competition in the up to 79 kg weight category at the World Wrestling Championships in Belgrade, guaranteeing himself at least a silver medal.
In the semi-final bout, Usmanov defeated Orkhan Abbasov from Azerbaijan with a score of 3-0. The Russian will compete with Georgian Vladimir Gamkrelidze for gold at the World Championship.
The World Championships in Belgrade, where Olympic licenses are awarded, will end on September 24. Russians and Belarusians are allowed to participate in competitions in a neutral status.
