Russian wrestler Sidakov became three-time world champion
MOSCOW, September 18 – Russian freestyle wrestler Zaurbek Sidakov won a gold medal at the World Championships in Belgrade.
In the final bout in the up to 74 kg weight category, Sidakov defeated American Kyle Dake with a score of 10:7.
This gold medal was the second for the Russians at the championship in Belgrade; earlier, Akhmed Usmanov (up to 79 kg) became the world champion. Abasgadzhi Magomedov (up to 61 kg) also won the silver medal.
Sidakov is 27 years old, he became a three-time world champion, and also won an Olympic license for the 2024 Games in Paris. In 2021, in Tokyo, he won his first Olympic gold medal.
The World Championships in Belgrade will end on September 24. Russians and Belarusians are allowed to participate in competitions in a neutral status.
