Sadulaev did not complete the semi-final bout at the World Wrestling Championships due to a neck injury
MOSCOW, September 18 – Two-time Olympic champion, Russian freestyle wrestler Abdulrashid Sadulaev, failed to reach the finals in the up to 97 kg weight category at the World Championships, which is taking place in Belgrade.
In the semi-finals, the Russian lost to Dagestan native Akhmed Tazhudinov, who represents Bahrain. The match was stopped a minute before the end with the score 9:2 in favor of the Bahrain representative. The Russian athlete was unable to continue the fight due to a neck injury.
The World Championships in Belgrade, where Olympic licenses are awarded, will end on September 24. Russians and Belarusians are allowed to participate in competitions in a neutral status.
