MOSCOW, 23 Jul – Ferrari’s Spanish driver Carlos Sainz starts the Formula 1 French Grand Prix from the last row of the grid, according to the competition website.
On Friday, the engine of Sainz’s car was replaced with an electronics unit, in connection with which he will have to start ten positions below the estimated one according to the results of qualification. On Saturday it became known that the driver’s car will also change the power unit, which is why he starts from the last row of the peloton.
At the tenth stage, which was held in the UK, Sainz took his first victory in Formula 1, but at the 11th stage of the season in Austria he retired due to an engine fire.
In addition to him, due to numerous changes in the engine of the car, the Dane Kevin Magnussen starts from the last row.
Qualifying for the French Grand Prix will take place later on Saturday. The race will take place on Sunday.
