Benzema believes the Saudi Arabian Championship could become the best league in the world
MOSCOW, September 18 – Al-Ittihad’s French striker Karim Benzema said the Saudi Arabian Football Championship is on its way to becoming the best league in the world.
The Ballon d’Or winner moved to Al Ittihad in the summer of 2023 from Real Madrid, signing a contract until June 2026.
In the summer transfer window, Saudi Arabian championship clubs spent 846 million euros, ahead of the championships of Italy (794), Germany (695), France (693) and Spain (397). In the summer, in particular, Neymar, Malcolm, Sadio Mane, N’Golo Kante, and Sergei Milinkovic-Savic moved to Saudi clubs.
Benzema is 35 years old; this season he has played six matches for the Saudi club and scored three goals.
