Shesterkin entered the top 3 contenders for the prize of the best goaltender of the NHL season

MOSCOW, May 10 – Russian goaltender “New York Rangers” Igor Shesterkin entered the shortlist of nominees for the “Vezina Trophy” – the prize for the best goaltender in the regular season in the National Hockey League (NHL), according to the official website of the tournament.
In addition to Shesterkin, Finnish Nashville goalkeeper Juuse Saros and Swede Jacob Markstrom from Calgary were among the contenders. All players were included in the list of three nominees for the Vezina Trophy for the first time in their careers.
The winner will be determined by voting among the general managers of the NHL clubs.
The current winner of the award is Minnesota’s Marc-Andre Fleury, who played for Vegas last season.
