Barys coach Skabelka will lead the Kazakhstan national hockey team at the First Channel Cup

MOSCOW, 5 Dec – Andrey Skabelka, the head coach of the Astana Barys, will head the Kazakhstan national team at the First Channel Cup, according to the website of the Kazakhstan Ice Hockey Federation.
The coaching staff will also include Vladimir Kopat, Fedor Polishchuk, goalkeeping coach Alexander Shimin, physical training coach Kirill Legchakov, and video coach Sergei Tambulov. The general manager of the national team will be Alexander Koreshkov.
The Channel One Cup with the participation of the national teams of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus will be held from December 15 to 18 in Moscow.
Earlier, the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) suspended the national teams of Russia and Belarus from international competitions for an indefinite period and deprived Russia of the right to host the youth and adult world championships in 2023.
