Tennis player Sobolenko believes that Ukrainian Tsurenko refused to play the match because of the coach
MOSCOW, 18 Mar – Belarusian tennis player Arina Sobolenko believes that Ukrainian Lesya Tsurenko refused to play against her at the Indian Wells tournament not because of the political situation, but because of the influence of her coach.
Earlier, Tsurenko said that she refused to play with Sobolenko in the third round match at the WTA 1000 category tournament in Indian Wells (USA) due to a panic attack. The reason, according to her, was the words of the General Director of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Steve Simon in support of the participation of Russian athletes in international tournaments.
