Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz qualified for the ATP Finals for the first time

MOSCOW, 8 Sep – Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz has qualified for the final tournament of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) of the 2022 season, according to the ATP website.
The fourth racket of the world guaranteed himself participation in the tournament after reaching the semi-finals of the US Open. For him, this will be the first final competition of the season.
Alcaraz became the second tennis player to qualify for the final ATP tournament. This was previously done by his compatriot Rafael Nadal.
The final ATP tournament will be held from 13 to 20 November in Turin, Italy. It will be attended by eight of the best tennis players in the ranking at the end of the season. In the final of the 2021 tournament, Russian Daniil Medvedev lost to Germany’s Alexander Zverev.
Alcaraz is 19 years old. The tennis player has won four titles this season. On Wednesday, he advanced to the semi-finals of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time in his career, defeating Italian tennis player Yannick Sinner in the quarterfinals of the US Open with a score of 6:3, 6:7 (7:9), 6:7 (0:7), 7:5, 6:3. Prior to this, the Spaniard stopped at the 1/4 final stage at the US Open – 2021 and the French Open – 2022.
