Stanley Cup winner Brodeur called the game the goaltender “Tampa” Vasilevskiy
MOSCOW, June 16 – Three-time Stanley Cup winner, four-time NHL top goaltender Martin Brodeur said Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Andrey Vasilevsky has shown incredible play in recent seasons.
“The way he’s played over the last three years is incredible. His stats, seventh game results and decisive games. You have to be a special goalkeeper to dominate for so many years. How many times could he easily say, ‘You know, I did a great job, won those Stanley Cups. “But he continues to persevere,” ESPN quoted Brodeur as saying.
Together with “Tampa”, the Russian reached the final of the Stanley Cup for the third year in a row. In the previous two seasons, he became the owner of the trophy.
“I’ve never had that opportunity. I’ve reached the Stanley Cup Final three times in four years. I’ve reached the Final two seasons in a row and lost to the Colorado Avalanche in seven games. What he’s going to do is crazy.” said the Canadian.
In the current playoff draw, the Russian won 12 victories in 18 matches. On average per game, he reflects 92.6% of shots with a reliability coefficient of 2.36. Vasilevsky made 34 saves in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final against Colorado (3-4).
