MOSCOW, 23 Aug – The Greater Manchester Police have announced on their official website that a suspect in the murder of the cousin of the world boxing council (WBC) champion Briton Tyson Fury has been charged.
Last weekend, Fury reported the murder of his cousin, 31-year-old Rico Burton. A man was stabbed to death outside a bar in Altringham at night. Police have detained 21-year-old Liam O’Prey, of no fixed abode, on suspicion of murder, he has been taken into custody and will face Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court on 24 August.
O’Prey is also charged with assaulting a 17-year-old boy who was badly injured and is currently in the hospital.
In addition, a 20-year-old man, who was not named and who was also arrested on suspicion of murder, is reported to have been released on bail pending an ongoing investigation.
Tyson Fury knocked out compatriot Dillian Whyte in April and defended his WBC title for the second time in a row, remaining undefeated (32 wins and one draw).
