The Swedish national ice hockey team defeated the Finnish team in the final match of the Euro Tour
MOSCOW, May 8 – The Swedish national ice hockey team defeated the Finnish team in the final match of the last stage of the Eurotour.
The meeting in Stockholm ended with the score 4:3 (2:1, 1:1, 1:1). Max Friberg (1st minute), Joakim Nordström (6), Joel Kellman (40) and Emil Bemström (44) scored goals against the Swedes. Finland’s goal scorers were Sakari Manninen (7, 22) and Harri Pesonen (44).
The Swedes scored 5 points and climbed to the second line of the stage standings. The Finns kept zero in the “victories” column and finished fourth (0 points). The team of the Czech Republic (9) became the winner of the stage earlier, the Swiss (4) took third place.
In the final standings, the Swedes after 12 games became the first, gaining 23 points. The second place was taken by the Finnish team (18), the Czechs were third (17). The Russian team managed to play seven games and score 13 points.
In February, the board of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) suspended the national teams of Russia and Belarus from international competitions for an indefinite period.
