The decision was taken at an online meeting of the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday.

The T20 World Cup was to be held in Australia from 18 October to 15 November. In the meeting, the ICC has also announced new dates for the three major men’s tournaments.

The Men’s ODI World Cup to be held in India in 2023 will also be played in October-November. The final will take place on 26 November.

Cricket Australia had already said that it is difficult to organize the tournament this year. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on the other hand, had been waiting for the ICC’s decision for a long time. The postponement of the T20 World Cup has cleared the way for the IPL 2020 event. The BCCI will now take a decision in this regard soon. According to media reports, the IPL may be held in the UAE.

It is being said in many reports that the IPL can be played in the UAE between 26 September and 8 November. The board has not made any official announcement regarding the IPL now, but the franchisees have started preparing for the tournament in Dubai. They are busy finding out about flights, hotels and other logistics facilities.

The UAE has already taken up the IPL. Due to the Lok Sabha elections in 2014, some IPL bouts were held in the UAE. The tournament then began on 16 April. Between 16 and 30 April, 20 matches were played in the UAE in 15 days.
