Boucher’s double brought Avangard a victory over Neftekhimik in the KHL with a score of 5:1
MOSCOW, September 16 – Omsk Avangard beat Nizhnekamsk Neftekhimik in a regular season match of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).
The meeting in Omsk ended with a score of 5:1 (1:0, 1:0, 3:1) in favor of the hosts, in which Reed Boucher (7th and 52nd minutes), Vladimir Tkachev (36), Ryan scored Spooner (46) and Nikita Kholodilin (59). Andrey Belozerov (42) scored for the guests. For Tkachev, this puck became the 100th in the KHL.
Avangard, with 10 points from six matches, is in second place in the Eastern Conference table. The Nizhnekamsk club is 12th with three points, closing the table. In the next match, the Omsk team will play on September 21 away against Novosibirsk Sibir, while Neftekhimik will play away against Kazakhstan’s Barys on September 18.
In another match of the day, Barys defeated Admiral Vladivostok at home thanks to a double from Roman Starchenko (4:3).
