The massive and practically uncontrolled outflow of foreign players has significantly reduced the overall level and entertainment of the RPL. Plus: young people, local and (small) visitors, got additional chances. Four and a half dozen guys under 21 took part in the first round of the new Russian championship alone. From this season we will follow them even more closely than before. That’s who showed himself the brightest in the first summer tour.

It would be strange if the head coach of the youth team, heading Nizhny, made a bet on men 30+. No, there are also experienced fighters in the team, but along with them, potential candidates for the U21 team enter the field. On Sunday, in Cherkizovo, Galaktionov activated four of these at once (the fifth, the removed Suleimanov, is already 22). Two of them – Kornyushin and Yuldoshev – completely covered the flanks.

Last year, Kornyushin played several matches for the first Krasnodar, and in 2022 he played at this level for the first time. But he did his best. A strong Nizhny Novgorod (by birth – Stavropol) blond successfully resisted the attacks of Tiknizyan, Kamano and Isidor and surprised the audience with a jerk to the opponent’s goal in the eighth (!) compensated minute – despite the fact that the load on the away defense after the removal was enormous. With stamina, the guy is in full order.

Alexander Kovalenko, 18 years old, “Wings of the Soviets”

Igor Osinkin continues to boldly rejuvenate the RPL. 18-year-old attacking midfielder Kovalenko (of course, from Chertanovo) played against him at the start even earlier than Pinyaev, but only last Saturday he made his first effective action in the Premier League. Well, yes, 90 percent of the merit in the second goal of Glushenkov belongs to Glushenkov himself (he already hit it!), but Kovalenko went into the statistics. Alexander could have scored “1 + 1”, but his shot was already blocked in stoppage time by two Orenburg defenders at once.

Olakunle Olusegun, 20, Krasnodar

After February 24, Krasnodar can only afford legionnaires of the “economy class”. But among them, too, there are quality performers. According to Transfermarkt, the Nigerian striker Olusegun cost Sergei Galitsky a little over €1 million.

He hasn’t scored goals yet, but he already has the second assist for the base. Let even a symbolic one – Ionov famously kissed from afar. The Nigerian was generally useful: he valued the ball (96% of accurate passes), tirelessly imposed a fight on the Voronezh defenders, and once trumped his technique, making a spectacular breakthrough in the center (the blow was blocked by the defender).

Alexis Beka-Beka, 21, Lokomotiv

Scoring goals is not the main functional duty of a young French defensive midfielder. But on Sunday, Beka-Beka was incredibly close to the first goal in Russia. In just a half, Alexis scored five hits, unrealistic for a profile destroyer, and three of them were very dangerous – two were saved by the Nizhny Novgorod goalkeeper Nigmatullin, and the last one, with side “scissors”, lacked accuracy quite a bit – otherwise it would be a goal of the tour. The statistical platform Instat assigned Beka-Bek the highest index among all the participants in the match – even Isidor has a lower one.

Daniil Khlusevich, 21, Spartak

Daniil Khlusevich

Spartak played in Grozny in the minority for more than half, and Khlusevich had almost the biggest load of the match. It was he who occupied the empty left flank of the red and white defense after the removal of Rybus and, predictably, was subjected to increased pressure from the opponent. Khlusevich bore it with dignity.

Daniil most often engaged in martial arts on the field (29 times with a success rate of 48%) and at the same time managed to periodically drive on the attack. But the red-and-whites’ number 82 made the most useful action of the evening a quarter of an hour before the end, blocking Agalarov’s finishing move from a couple of meters. And soon Moises evened the score.

Sergey Pinyaev, 17 years old, “Wings of the Soviets”

Chertanovsky child prodigy has long been heard, but still remains the youngest participant in the RPL. On Saturday, Pinyaev made another important step in his own development – for the first time in the championship he came out in the starting lineup. And he played in such a way as to stay in it – at least for the second round.

The ninth number of Samara turned out to be the most hitting participant in the match in Orenburg. Let only one of Pinyaev’s five shots hit the target (two were blocked by the defenders, two went past), the initiative of the 17-year-old winger deserves praise. Sergey passed more carefully than he beat (passing accuracy – 90%) and even at 0:0 created a wonderful moment for Glushenkov – Maxim corny did not hit the ball in the goalkeeper’s area.

Wilson Isidor, 21 Lokomotiv

Many people were skeptical and misunderstood about the notorious “new vector” of Lokomotiv. But we must admit: in the current geopolitical realities, the bet on young and “hungry” legionnaires looks far-sighted. If Zorn also manages to resell them profitably for the club over time, doubts about the correctness of the chosen course will finally disappear.

Obviously, at the moment, the main foreign asset of the red-greens is Isidor. Lokomotivskiy Henri was one of the most active participants in the first round, collecting a chic combo – seven hits, three key passes and a goal. Someone, but Isidor on Sunday in Cherkizovo did his job perfectly. There are few such strong personalities left in the RPL.
