MOSCOW, July 24 – The captain of the Moscow “Spartak” Georgy Dzhikiya stood up for the fan of the team, who ran onto the field in the game of the second round of the Russian Premier League (RPL) with “Krasnodar” (4:1).
The stewards caught up with the fan and took him to the under-tribune room. Jikia went for the stadium staff and convinced them to let the man go. To applause, the fan returned to the podium.
Spartak scored four points in the first two rounds of the Russian championship. The next meeting of the capital club will be held on July 31 on the home field against Orenburg.
