Coach of the American figure skater Levito: the removal of Russian skaters is unfair

MOSCOW, May 12 – Figure skating coach Yulia Kuznetsova, who works with the world junior champion American Isabeau Levito, criticized the removal of Russians from international tournaments.
“This is unfair. No children and no athletes have anything to do with it. Coaches, including, of course. We just do our job, no matter where we live,” Sport24 quotes a specialist.
Kuznetsova added that competition with Russian skaters helps her team develop, so her team was disappointed with the decision to remove the Russians.
“Of course, we were upset that there would be no Russian girls (at the Junior World Championships). Russian girls are pushing us forward,” Kuznetsova said.
Earlier, the International Skating Union (ISU) decided to cancel the Russian stage of the Grand Prix series in figure skating of the 2022/23 season and extended the suspension of Russian and Belarusian athletes from participating in competitions under the auspices of the organization.
