Reigning US Open winner Radukanu has changed coaches for the third time this year

MOSCOW, 26 April – 2021 US Open winner Emma Radukanu has parted ways with her coach for the third time in a year, BBC reports.
After Wimbledon 2021, Radukanu ended her partnership with Nigel Sears. He was replaced by Andrew Richardson, but his contract was not renewed despite the athlete’s victory at the US Open. In November, the 19-year-old tennis player announced that she would work with Torben Balz.
“I want to thank Torben for the training, professionalism and dedication shown over the past six months. He has a huge heart. We had a certain chemistry. I enjoyed working together,” Radukanu said.
It is noted that Ian Bates, the head of women’s tennis at the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), will work with Radukan.
“I believe that now the best direction for my development will be the transition to a new model of training with temporary support LTA,” added the athlete.
The tennis player plans to take part in the tournament in Madrid, which starts on Thursday. The Briton takes 11th place in the ranking of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA).
