The tenth Moscow Marathon will be held on September 17
MOSCOW, September 14 – The tenth Moscow Marathon will take place on September 17, participants will be able to run a distance of 42.2 km or 10 km.
Before the marathon, open training sessions and master classes from professional athletes were held at the South and North river stations of Moscow. In addition, to prepare for the start, a running center has been operating on the territory of the Luzhniki Olympic complex since August 1.
In total, the event will include 42.2 and 10 km races, as well as a corporate relay race, in which more than 110 teams will take part. All races are scheduled to start at 9:00.
The race for marathon and relay participants will start at the Small Sports Arena, and the 10 km race will begin on Luzhniki Street near the Alley of Glory. Participants will run along the Garden Ring, across the Crimean Bridge, along the Boulevard Ring and Tverskaya Street, along Teatralny Proezd and under the walls of the Kremlin. The finish will take place on Festival Square.
Professional athletes will also take part in the races. Two-time Russian Marathon Champion Stepan Kisilev and Olympic participant, 5-time Russian champion Ildar Minshin will take the starting line.
Additional registration for the marathon distance will be open on September 14 and 15 online and on the days of distribution of start packages – September 15 and September 16 – on the territory of the Luzhniki Olympic Complex.
