The German national ice hockey team defeated the Danes in the group stage match of the World Championship
MOSCOW, May 19 – The German national team beat the Danish team in the Ice Hockey World Championship match in Finland.
Group A meeting, which took place in Helsinki, was postponed by 1 hour 20 minutes due to a small fire in the arena. The game ended with the score 1:0 (0:0, 1:0, 0:0). The puck was scored by Mark Michaelis in the 33rd minute.
The German national team, which scored 9 points, came out on the third place in the standings. The Danish team is in fourth place with 6 points.
The World Championship will end on May 29th. The national teams of Russia and Belarus miss the tournament due to the sanctions of the International Ice Hockey Federation. The place of the Russian team was taken by the French team, the Belarusians were replaced by the Austrians.
