The government instructed to resume the holding of sports competitions in Ukraine without spectators

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a protocol decision on organizing and holding sports competitions in Ukraine under martial law without spectators.

According to Ukrinform, Minister of Youth and Sports Vadym Gutsait announced this on Facebook.

“The Ukrainian Premier Football League and other national championships are returning to Ukraine! The Cabinet of Ministers supported my proposal and instructed to resume the organization and holding of sports competitions in Ukraine under martial law. For security reasons, the teams will play without spectators,” he wrote.

The minister added that in coordination with the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Economy, the National Police, the State Emergency Service and local military administrations, the Ministry of Youth and Sports is starting to prepare for the new sports season.

“We are a nation of winners and winning on all fronts is important to us,” added Gutzeit.

As reported, at the end of last month, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, by order No. 1587, already allowed all-Ukrainian sports competitions to be held in certain areas of Ukraine without the presence of spectators.

Competitions are resumed for the qualitative training of athletes of the national teams of Ukraine in sports for participation in major international sports competitions. During their conduct, the security conditions provided for by the legislation on martial law must be observed.
