Ceferin: Russia will return to Eurofootball only after the end of the situation in Ukraine
MOSCOW, September 18 – President of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Aleksander Čeferin said that Russian national teams and clubs will not be allowed to participate in European competitions until the situation in Ukraine is resolved.
The International Football Federation (FIFA) and UEFA published a joint statement in February 2022, according to which Russian national teams and clubs are suspended from participation in international competitions for an indefinite period due to the events in Ukraine.
The head of UEFA also spoke about breaking the sponsorship contract with Gazprom.
