AS: Barcelona players will receive no more than 10 million euros a year
MOSCOW, June 7 – The management of the Spanish football club “Barcelona” can introduce a salary cap for players, which will be no more than 10 million euros per year after taxes, newspaper AS reports.
According to the source, the initiative belongs to the president of the “blue garnet” Joan Laporte, who seeks to stabilize the financial condition of the club. The Barcelona players agreed to a cut to fit into the limit. Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski, who could move to the Catalan club this summer, is said to be receiving €9m a year.
Earlier it was reported that Barcelona became the only club in the top division of the championship of Spain on football, exceeded the salary cap after the winter transfer window. Barcelona, which strengthened its composition in the winter with Ferran Torres, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Adam Traore and Dani Alves, exceeded the salary cap by 144.353 million euros.
