The Bulldogs won the previous meeting between these two teams, 34-28, back in 2016.
The Mustangs are coming off a 2-9 season, while the Bulldogs went 10-3 last year.
“The Bulldogs have smoked four of their last five FCS opponents, dropping 60 or more points in three of those games. This includes last year’s 63-10 beat down of Cal Poly.
“Fresno State star quarterback Jake Haener — who might remind you of Baker Mayfield if you squint — threw 33 touchdowns last year and has thrived since transferring from Washington.”
“The problem here is the point spread. It was Fresno favored by -33.5 but has ballooned up to -41. That’s a massive number for a Fresno team that may call off the dogs early with a big game against Oregon State next week.
“It’s tough to lay nearly six touchdowns in any football game, but if you must play a side here, Fresno is the side to play.”
