Co-owner of London’s Crystal Palace football club, Stephen Parish, said his team’s footballers will have the right to refuse to play if they feel the risk of contracting a coronavirus.
The championship of England is interrupted indefinitely due to the coronavirus. On Monday, a video conference of the English Premier League will be held, which will discuss the prospect of resuming the season in June with empty stands and in neutral fields.
Parish suggested that playing in such conditions would be safe, but admitted that some players may have concerns.
“The first thing we need to do is tell the players about the risks and make sure they understand it,” said Parish, quoted by the Sunday Times.
