Canadian figure skater Alexandra Paul dies in car crash at 31
MOSCOW, 27 Aug – Canadian figure skater Alexandra Paul, a participant in the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi, died in a car accident, according to CBC Sports.
It is reported that the incident involving seven cars occurred earlier this week in the Canadian province of Ontario. The out-of-control truck crashed into a line of cars parked on the side of the road. Paul, 31, was traveling with her young son, who was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Paul performed in ice dancing with Mitchell Islam, who became her husband in 2021. The skaters retired in 2016. At the Winter Olympics in Sochi, they took 18th place.
