MOSCOW, 15 Jan – The English Premier League has decided to postpone the match in the 22nd round of the championship of England on football between London “Tottenham” and “Arsenal” at the request of the guests, according to the official website of the league.
Match “Tottenham” – “Arsenal” was supposed to take place on 16 January. The meeting has been postponed indefinitely. The decision is due to the fact that Arsenal have fewer players available than are included in the application for the game – 13 outfield players and one goalkeeper.
“The decision is based on a combination of COVID-19 cases, injuries and players traveling to play for their national teams in the African Cup of Nations. All clubs can apply for a match postponement if the cause is coronavirus. The league is looking to provide more clarity. Unfortunately, sometimes you have to “postponing matches at short notice as safety is a priority. Whenever possible, the league will endeavor to inform fans if a match is in jeopardy,” the league said in a statement.
Earlier it became known that Arsenal appealed to the English Premier League with a request to postpone the meeting due to the absence of a large number of players due to illness and injury. The league considered the issue at a meeting on Saturday. The media reported that Tottenham did not believe in the veracity of this situation.
