Vlasov climbed to fifth place in the overall standings of the Vuelta a España
MOSCOW, 28 Aug – Russian cyclist Alexander Vlasov finished 10th in the third stage of the Vuelta a España and thus moved up to fifth place in the general classification of the competition.
The Belgian Remco Evenepoel from Soudal Quick Step won the stage, covering 158.5 km in 4 hours 15 minutes 39 seconds. Dane Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) came second, Spaniard Juan Ayuso (UAE Team Emirates) finished third. Vlasov lagged behind Evenepool, like Wingegor and Ayuso, for one second.
In the general classification of the Vuelta, Evenepool leads with a time of 8 hours 43 minutes 11 seconds, the second is the Spaniard Enric Mas from Movistar, 5 seconds behind, the third is the Frenchman Lenny Martinez (Groupama-FDJ, +0.11). Vlasov is 33 seconds behind Evenepool.
The fourth stage with a length of 184.6 km starts on Tuesday, August 29.
