Three-time biathlon world champion Kaisa Mäkäräinen joined the IBU Athletes’ Commission
MOSCOW, June 21 – Finnish world champion Kaisa Mäkäräinen has been included in the commission of athletes of the International Biathlon Union (IBU), according to the official website of the organization.
A meeting of the executive committee of the organization was held in Salzburg. Mäkäräinen became the fifth member of the commission, and she was also included in the IBU technical committee as an athlete representative.
The IBU Athletes’ Commission includes American Claire Egan, Norwegian Ingrid Tandrevold, German Johannes Kühn and Swede Sebastian Samuelsson.
Mäkärainen retired at the end of the 2019/20 season. She also has one silver and four bronze medals at the world championships, she became the winner of the overall World Cup three times.
