MOSCOW, 22 Jul – The master class of Russian figure skater Alexandra Trusova, which was supposed to take place in Stockholm, has been canceled, according to the Golden Skate forum.
Trusova’s master classes on jumping technique were to be held on August 27-28.
“Due to the fact that the Swedish Figure Skating Federation recommended not to organize this project at the moment, the organizing club is forced to cancel it, despite the fact that Mrs. Trusova was going to come to Sweden as a private person. In two weeks, 80 % of tickets,” the organizers said in a statement, a screenshot of which was posted on the forum.
According to a statement on the website of the Swedish Figure Skating Federation, activities with athletes from Russia and Belarus are contrary to the foundations of the federation’s values and could damage the reputation of Swedish figure skating.
Trusova is 18 years old, she is the bronze medalist of the World Championship, she also has two bronze medals of the European Championships. At the Beijing Olympics in women’s single skating, Trusova took second place, losing to compatriot Anna Shcherbakova. In the free program, Trusova tried to perform five jumps in four turns. Three of them she did cleanly, but in the end she became the second.
