Tsitsipas on Kyrgios: he mocks opponents, he has a very evil side
MOSCOW, July 3 – Australian Nick Kyrgios constantly mocks opponents on the court, despite the fact that he has good character traits, he has a very evil side, says the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas.
On Saturday, Tsitsipas lost to Kiryos in the third round match of the Wimbledon tournament with a score of 7:6 (7:2), 4:6, 3:6, 6:7 (7:9).
“It’s constant bullying, that’s what he does. He bullies his rivals. He was probably a bully at school, and I don’t like bullies. He has good character traits, but besides them, he has a very evil side, which , if revealed, it can bring a lot of harm to the people around him,” Tsitsipas was quoted by AFP.
The Greek admitted that he deliberately aimed the ball at Kiryos during the match.
“I was aiming at my opponent’s body, but I missed very badly. This needs to be stopped, this is not normal. Someone needs to sit down and talk to him, I’m not used to playing like that. It was like a circus. You get tired of constant talking and complaining “, – added the tennis player.
Kyrgios, at his press conference after the match, said that he was the victim of bullying on the court.
“Maybe he should figure out how to beat me a couple more times and then discuss it all. Not sure how I mocked him. He was the one aiming balls at me, he threw the ball into the stands. Today I did nothing disrespectful towards Stefanos,” Kyrgios said.
