Greek tennis player Tsitsipas will play with Khachanov in the 1/2 finals of the Australian Open
MOSCOW, 24 Jan – Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open, which takes place in Melbourne.
Tsitsipas, who received the third seed, defeated Czech Jiri Legechka in the quarterfinals with a score of 6:3, 7:6 (7:2), 6:4. Tennis players spent 2 hours and 17 minutes on the court.
For reaching the final, Tsitsipas will compete with the 18th seeded Russian Karen Khachanov.
Tsitsipas is 24 years old. He is the world No. 4 and winner of nine Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) tournaments in singles. The Greek reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open for the fourth time (2019, 2021, 2022). Legechka is ranked 71st in the ranking of the best tennis players in the world. The 21-year-old Czech played in the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam for the first time in his career.
