Ukrainian boxer Redkach posted a positive photo with world champion Russian Bivol
MOSCOW, June 19 – Ukrainian boxer Ivan Redkach posted a photo on social networks with Russian world champion Dmitry Bivol and urged not to combine sports and politics.
In May, Bivol defeated Saul Alvarez to retain the WBA Super title. Earlier, the Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Vadim Gutzeit said that Ukrainian athletes would boycott all competitions with the participation of Russians.
“We need to separate sports and politics. Although this principle is already going down in history. For me, sport remains out of politics. How athletes work, not a single official works. Only if he sweats while calculating the budget in his pockets,” Redkach wrote on Instagram (activity Meta (social networks Facebook and Instagram) is banned in Russia as extremist).
The Ukrainian boxer had 30 fights in the professional ring. Redkach won 23 victories and suffered six defeats. Another fight ended in a draw.
